Diagnostic Test and Patient Referral Performance Improvement CME

MagMutual recognizes that participation in performance improvement activities within your practices can help to reduce your risk and enhance patient outcomes. We are pleased to provide you with an opportunity to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for completing a performance improvement project on “Diagnostic Test and Patient Referral Tracking.” We choose this topic because of its significance and prevalence as an issue in medical malpractice claims. More importantly, it gives us the opportunity to work collaboratively with you and to support your efforts to improve the quality of care to your patients. 

This activity is structured into three distinct stages; Stages A, B, and C. Stage A is designed to facilitate an evaluation of your current practices to determine if there are opportunities for improvement.  Stage B is the phase of the project where you will implement an intervention based on the assessment that you performed in Stage A.  Finally, Stage C is the phase of the performance improvement project where you will evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions outlined in your corrective action plan.

Five (5) credits are awarded for the successful completion of each Stage.  If you successfully complete all three stages, an additional five (5) credits are awarded for a total of twenty (20) AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.  While we encourage you to take advantage of the full program, the activity is designed so that you can enter at any of the three stages and earn five (5) hours for the stage that you complete.

The “stages” or modules are available in both an excel-based format as well as a .pdf format.  Participants who choose the excel-based version should have at least a beginner’s knowledge of how to work in a spreadsheet program.
