Patient Safety is one of the highest priorities in healthcare today. Many physician practices are making real progress in bringing about improvements in their patient safety practices. To help recognize the activities of our policyholders, MAG Mutual will begin to feature Patient Safety Success Stories in upcoming editions of our Risk Management Newsletter.
We invite our policyholders to submit stories demonstrating how they have used innovative, new and unique solutions and processes to help prevent medical errors and improve patient safety. Some of these activities may have also affected healthcare within a particular community. We believe that other practices would like to hear about your successes, and may be inspired to pursue their own patient safety improvement activities.
Criteria for Story Submission
Write up to a 1200 word essay explaining your patient safety activity/initiative and describe how your efforts have improved patient safety within your practice(s), group or community. Feel free to include how the practice utilized technology or other innovations to implement an effective solution. Also, include an outline of the obstacles you had to overcome along with a description of the strategies in place to sustain the improvements.
Each selected story will be published in MAG Mutual’s risk management newsletters and made available on-line at www.magmutual.com in the Patient Safety Success Stories Section. There are no deadlines and no limit to the number of stories that may be submitted by either individuals or groups. Stories may be submitted at anytime.
