Coding Certification Workshops
How to become a co-sponsor?

Dear Potential Co-sponsor:

Thanks again for your interest in MAG Mutual HealthCare Solutions, Inc. (MMHSI) and our coding certification workshops. We appreciate your interest in being a co-sponsor for MAG Mutual HealthCare Solutions and other interested coders in your area.

As a co-sponsor, we will need for you to find an instruction location. This location can be any type of community-based facility such as a hospital or library, willing to donate a room for a few days to hold the class in. The room must be able to hold at least 20 people in a classroom setting with tables and chairs or desks for each individual.

If the co-sponsor wants to collect all of the registration information and fees from the individuals taking the course, it must be collected and turned into our office 45 days prior to the day of the exam. This is to insure proper registration with AAPC.

Another option is to allow MMHSI to do all the registration and collection of funds. This option works much better for the co-sponsor.

Please remember that if you recruit ten more individuals to attend the course, you can attend at no cost to you, and, if you can recruit fifteen individuals, another person of your choice may attend free. The cost of the course is $895.00 per person and includes AAPC study materials. If you or any of the other individuals elect to take the CPC exam, there is an additional $250.00, which is sent directly to AAPC.

Individuals attending the course will need at least two years experience in the medical field, a basic knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding and medical terminology.

The materials needed for the course are as follows:

· A current year's AMA CPT Professional Edition
· A current year's ICD-9-CM book
· A current year's HCPCS Level II book
· A medical Dictionary

If any of these books are needed before the course, they can be purchased through us here at MAG Mutual HealthCare Solutions, Inc. A complete list of these and other coding references are available on our website at.www.coderscentral.com.

If you need any further information regarding the course, please feel free to contact me at (770) 241-4344.

Sincerely,

Steven A. Adams, CPC, CPC-H, COA
