Dr. Michael Bono was drawn to medicine at a young age after admiring how well his pediatrician took care of patients. Dr. Bono is in his 34th year of practice as an emergency physician, and has been teaching emergency medicine residents for the entire time. He is a professor of emergency medicine at the Eastern Virginia Medical School, and serves as vice chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
MagMutual’s then chairman, Dr. Roy Vandiver, invited Dr. Bono to the MagMutual Board of Directors after he worked on the North Carolina claims committee, and had been working on medical malpractice reviews for more than twenty years.
Dr. Bono has been a member of the MagMutual Board of Directors since 2008, and also serves on editorial and patient safety committees and the MagMutual Foundation board.
Dr. Bono was attracted to the board of MagMutual because of their dedication to protecting physicians with the best defense for good medicine. Board members are committed to defending doctors and providing an excellent product for PolicyOwners. Dr. Bono is proud to serve on the MagMutual Board of Directors.
