Dr. King is a Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialist who is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Internal Medicine. She completed an Internal Medicine Residency as well as a Faculty Development Program and Master of Science in Clinical Research at MSM, and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. King is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and the American College of Physicians. She is also a member of the American Thoracic Society and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
She is currently on faculty at Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM) and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2017 and subsequently promoted to the rank of Professor in 2024. Dr. King was among the faculty members who developed the patient safety and quality improvement (PS/QI) curriculum for the Internal Medicine (IM) residency program at MSM. Since then, she has participated in the implementation of the PS/QI program for IM residents at MSM and currently assists residents and fellows in designing and conducting PS/QI projects.
Dr. King initially engaged with MagMutual as a Patient Safety Physician Consultant in 2016 and served in that capacity for several years before becoming a board member in 2025. She is committed to supporting MagMutual's mission of serving and protecting physicians.
