MagMutual Chief Medical Officer, Tanner Colgrove, MD to Present MagMutual Maternal Morality Report Findings at ACOG West Virginia Meeting

ATLANTA, December 6, 2024 – MagMutual, a leading provider of medical professional liability insurance and other liability coverages for the healthcare industry, today announced its Chief Medical Officer, Tanner Colegrove, MD will present current research on maternal mortality in the U.S. during the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) West Virginia Section Meeting, December 6 - 8 at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs. 

Specifically, Dr. Colegrove will discuss findings of MagMutual’s report, “Worsening Maternal Mortality in the U.S.: The role of physicians and the public in addressing this growing crisis,” which examines the numerous causes underlying this trend and provides strategies for healthcare providers to elevate care, improve outcomes and reduce litigation. 

Dara Aliff, DO, a MagMutual board member will chair the ACOG program, which is eligible for CME credit. Participating faculty will lecture on issues, clinical developments and diagnostic and treatment methodologies in obstetrics and gynecology, including maternal morbidity and mortality, minimally invasive gynecological surgery (MIGS) in pregnancy, adolescent contraception, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), preterm birth prediction and prevention, menopause, and fetal surgery.  

In addition to Dr. Colegrove, faculty for the West Virginia Section Meeting will include: Jim Casey, MD, Carilion Clinic; Eduardo Lara-Torre, MD, University of North Carolina; Samuel E. Brown, MD, Medical Director, Brown Fertility; Scott Sullivan, MD, Division Chief, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Inova Health System; May H. Blanchard, MD, Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of Maryland School of Medicine; and Anthony Johnson, DO, Maternal Fetal Medicine Obstetrics And Gynecology, The Fetal Center at Children's Memorial Hermann.
