MagMutual Welcomes Jim Kenney as New Regional Senior Vice President

March 25, 2016

ATLANTA (March 24, 2016) – MagMutual Insurance Company, the Southeast’s largest medical professional liability insurer is pleased to announce that Jim Kenney has joined the company as Regional Senior Vice President (SVP) of North Carolina and will lead sales and business development in North Carolina for the PolicyOwned mutual.

With an emphasis on sales, strategic alliances, and retaining and developing client relationships, Jim Kenney will help MagMutual to better serve its North Carolina Policyholders which is consistent with MagMutual’s key operating precepts and strategic business plan. The company has established a more refined focus on regional leadership including improved ability to deliver service at a local level, greater presence over multiple offices throughout North and South Carolina, better knowledge and more influence with respect to each state.

Jim comes to MagMutual from The Medical Protective Company where he worked for 14 years and most recently held the position of Vice President of Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Sales. He holds a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY, and retired a Major, having served over 11 years of active duty.

“Serving thousands of doctors and multiple hospitals in North Carolina, it is only natural that we would want an even more dedicated effort to provide the leading product to our Policyholders in North Carolina,” said Neil Morrell, MagMutual president. “Jim’s noteworthy experience in the healthcare and liability insurance industry will enable us to achieve this. “

Additionally, Mark Francis, formerly Regional Senior Vice President North Carolina and South Carolina, will transition into the role of Senior Vice President South Carolina/Workers Compensation Programs. In his new role Mark will continue to provide strategic vision and management of the business development function for all products in South Carolina and will now be responsible for strategic direction and growth of our Workers Compensation programs across all of MagMutual.

“Overall these changes will better position us to achieve our long-term strategic goals, while focusing better on the individual needs of our PolicyOwners in North Carolina and South Carolina,” said Morrell.
