Mutual Matters: 2025 MagMutual Foundation Healthcare Grant Awards

By: William S. Kanich, MD, JD

MagMutual PolicyOwners:

Healthcare is strongest when it’s built on community—people supporting one another, investing in one another and working toward better outcomes for all. That belief is at the heart of the MagMutual Foundation. Each year, we have the privilege of awarding healthcare community grants through medical philanthropy programs that strengthen community health outcomes and support healthcare professionals across the country.  As we close out 2025, I’m proud to share the meaningful impact these grants have made and grateful for the role our PolicyOwners play in making this work possible.

2025 Grantmaking Summary

In 2025, the MagMutual Foundation awarded 16 grants, representing $315,000 in funding for programs focused on access, equity, well-being and safety.  The Foundation also committed $180,000 in multi-year support over the next five years, bringing our total long-term commitment to $495,000.  These grants reached organizations in eight states across the country—from Oregon to Florida—reflecting our national reach and the local impact PolicyOwners make through these medical philanthropy programs.

Looking Ahead

The impact of these grants is made possible by our PolicyOwners. Together, you help strengthen care, support healthcare professionals and invest in a safer, more equitable future of medicine. This is what it means to be part of a mutual company—and why our Foundation continues to grow its support each year.

We’ll share details on next year’s grant opportunities soon, and we look forward to continuing this important work together. Until then, thank you for your dedication to safer care and stronger communities.
