Mutual Matters: Giving Back to Our Communities
MagMutual PolicyOwners:
As a mutual company, we owe more to our policyholders than just insurance. It is for this reason, and many others, that we continue to offer financial rewards, game-changing risk advice and impactful innovations to our policyholders. We will continue to do this for as long as we are able to, but there is another way we give back that I’d like to call attention to today.
As one of our key philanthropic endeavors, the MagMutual Foundation provides grants to organizations in the medical community. These grants support free-access clinics, pro bono medical care for underserved populations and scholarships to help minority and underserved students pursue medical education among other things.
The Foundation board meets every fall to award grants to selected applicants. This year, we were proud to provide endowments to a diverse cross-section of medical and healthcare groups across Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
As a way to further give back to our community of PolicyOwners, we sponsor in-person or online CME opportunities for ongoing education and professional development as well as industry events. To date, we have issued more than 10,000 certificates and accreditation hours for our policyholders.
We’re also committed to supporting and encouraging our employees to give back by matching their contributions to charitable nonprofit organizations. In fact, MagMutual meets these donations dollar-for-dollar up to $250 per calendar year.
Additionally, through our Dollars for Doers program, we contribute funds to eligible organizations on behalf of our employees who volunteer 30 or more hours of their personal time each year.
As we close out 2024, MagMutual has a lot to be grateful for. And we look forward to an even brighter 2025. But with this success comes a greater responsibility to give back and support those who have contributed to our achievements along the way.
Sincerely,
Bill Kanich, MD, JD
