Lack of informed consent--a proximate cause of injury in this lawsuit
A 16 year old female underwent a surgical plantar wart removal from the side of her left heel in her podiatrist’s office. Complications developed, necessitating five subsequent surgeries on her left foot. For seven years from the date of the wart excision until trial, the patient was substantially restricted to a wheelchair, crutch and /or cane assisted ambulation.
