Sexual Misconduct: Strategies to Minimize Risk (Part 1)

This course is specifically designed for physicians to increase their understanding of sexual misconduct. This session is part of a two-part series intended to increase your knowledge regarding characteristics of sexual misconduct within the physician community. At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to: 

At the conclusion of this continuing medical education activity, the participant will:

  • Define sexual misconduct and sexual harassment
  • Define the physician-patient relationship and inherent boundary responsibilities
  • Identify behaviors consistent with sexual misconduct
  • Identify vulnerabilities that increase the likelihood of a sexual misconduct claim
  • Discuss physician responsibilities, strategies, and best practices to decrease the risk of sexual misconduct
  • Explore the repercussions the Georgia Board of Medicine may impose for practitioners found guilty of sexual misconduct
  • Prevent sexual misconduct through awareness
