Slip, Trip and Fall: Prevention and Resources

Identifying potential hazards

Inspection Log

The purpose of the inspection log is to identify potentially hazardous or dangerous conditions and to establish the owner has reasonable inspection procedures in place. For instance, Georgia law requires the performance of reasonable inspection procedures to establish proper maintenance of the property in a safe manner. The inspection logs carefully detail various areas of the site and provide specific time periods to when these sites should be inspected.  Inspection procedures are a team effort and participation is needed to promote a safe environment.

Use this sample inspection log to identify potential hazards or dangerous conditions. Also, to establish reasonable inspection procedures, which are sometimes required by law.
